Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 kicks off on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

The ‘Pro Evo or FIFA?’ debate is one that will rage ‘til the end of days. Pro Evo titles are generally considered to be the better games, but FIFA has the allure of being fully official and everything, meaning that you don’t have to play with teams called ‘London FC’ or ‘Man Blue’.

Android fans on on the Pro Evo terraces can rejoice with news that their kickabout simulator of choice is headed to phones, starting with the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.

Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, to give it its full and correct title is available to download from the Android Market now for £4.31.

It’s exclusively licensed by UEFA, which means you can play your way up the UEFA Champions League, The UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup on your phone, taking London FC all the way to the top.

The game looks to be Xperia Play-exclusive for the time being, similar to FIFA 12 which launched in August. No word just yet on when this period would end; we’re checking this out now.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play recently dropped to £150 on O2 Pay & Go, where it must’ve been snapped up sharpish; it’s not there any more. Those in the market for an Xperia Play can still nab one for £200 on Expansys however.
