Robot Unicorn Attack coming to Android devices today! Our dreams came true!

Our Android unicorn dreams have come true; we’ve just heard that cult hit Robot Unicorn Attack will be hitting the Android Market today.

Altogether now: Hold oooooon to the night….. there will be no shaaaame!

But hold your horses; It’s not available to download just yet. Joystiq reports that it’ll be selling for $1 US, which should convert to around £0.60 over here.

The object of the game is to pilot a robotic unicorn across a series of pastel coloured dreamscapes while Erasure’s ‘Always’ twinkles in the background. The game is unfinishable, addictive and utterly captivating. What do you mean you’ve never heard of it?

The hit Adult Swim desktop game was first ported to iOS last year where it went down a storm. Heavy Metal and Christmas editions of the game followed, which may get the Android treatment too if they prove popular enough.

Jeff Olsen, VP of Adult Swim Digital and Games says that the Adult Swim app has also said that should Robot Unicorn Attack prove popular on Android (!) then we’ll see ports of other Adult Swim titles as well; games like 5 Minutes to Kill (Yourself) and Amateur Surgeon.

Adult Swim also hopes to launch its free Adult Swim app for Android next month. This will allow you to access episodes and clips from popular shows including Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Copyright issues and the like however may mean that we won’t see this particular app in the UK.

Indeed, when we checked this iTunes link for the Adult Swim app and changed the ‘/us/’ to ‘/gb/’ we got a ‘not available in the UK’ message. Hmm.

Anyway, we should be getting Robot Unicorn Attack over here. We’re feverishly checking the Android Market and will follow up with the app review asap.
