EA has launched a new game in its Rock Band franchise, for iPhone and iPad. Rock Band Reloaded includes new songs, an all-new vocals mode, and on iPad a nifty two-players-on-one-screen mode too.
The game includes 29 free songs from the likes of Beastie Boys, Megadeth, Vampire Weekend and Nirvana. Oh, and for the 80s fans among you, the inclusion of Duran Duran, Billy Idol and Pat Benatar will be a treat. Well, we think ‘treat’ is the right word…
The previous Rock Band iPhone game focused on instruments only, but this new one has a vocal mode, letting you wail along to the songs, and get rated on how often you hit the notes (or, indeed, miss by a country mile). There’s also a new Expert mode for better players, and as before there’s an in-game store to buy new tracks.
On iPad specifically, there’s a split-screen two-player mode – on iPhone you can play with up to three mates via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth – and also a bigger drumkit. iPad players can also create their own playlists to play along to, rather than cherry-picking tracks individually.
