Rovio launches Angry Birds cookbook

Today Rovio officially launched ‘Angry Birds: Bad Piggies’ Egg Recipes’ a cookbook packed with egg-based recipes for the Angry Birds fan.

The launch was held at Nokia House, the pop-up shop in central London, showcasing the Nokia Lumia 800, the company’s first Windows Phone handset. Angry Birds of course has been available to download on the Lumia since launch.

Celebrity Chef Aldo Zilli was on hand to cook a selection of recipes from the book, which seem to be aimed primarily at children.

Looking at the cookbook and it’s far more than ‘another’ spin-off, namely due to the humorous and colourful illustrations by Pasi Pitkanen.

The recipes themselves have an equally tongue-in-cheek tone. The Dirty Dozen (picked eggs) Shaken, Not Stirred (Bearnaise Sauce) and Huffin ‘N’ Puffin (cheese and egg souffle).

Clearly there’s more money to be made from these Angry Birds than gaming, soft creatures and iPod docks. Certainly Rovio thinks so, and has started a publishing unit, also releasing ‘The Big Red Doodle Book’ and ‘The Big Green Doodle Book’ children’s colouring books.

‘Angry Birds: Bad Piggies’ Egg Recipes’ is out now priced around £10.99 from selected retailers including: Amazon, Firebox, Waterstones and Play.com
