Rumour: iPhone 5 and iPhone Nano? Apple ‘prepares two phones’ for September release date?

As the rumour mill spins, today brings news that anonymous sources have told 9To5Mac that the next addition to the iPhone range could include to very different phones.

Aside from the typical next-generation iPhone, which would include a faster processor, bigger screen and a better camera, a source says that there will also be a more keenly priced addition to the iPhone family.

At the moment, if you’re unwilling to wait for the iPhone 5, you can still buy the older iPhone 3GS, cheaper by just under £100 in comparison to the iPhone 4, but the new addition would be a cheaper-to -make handset geared towards middle-weight Android smartphones that are currently doing astoundingly well bringing in smartphone beginners.

Some guesses suggest that a new, cheaper iPhone could use a similar screen to the current generation of iPod touch, with the same resolution as an iPhone, but with less impressive viewing angles.

A cheaper phone would be viable for Apple, who would still manage to make plenty of money from music and app purchases through its iTunes store.

Two models would also confirm the mixed rumours heard about the design of the new device; many suggesting it would not be a massive design or hardware change- similar to the iPad 2- whilst other sources and rumours suggestthe opposite; a “radical departure” from the iPhone 4’s current glass-metallic look.
