Samsung Galaxy Gio Review

The Samsung Galaxy Gio is another recent addtion to Samsung’s Galaxy Family line up of Android phones. Being Italian for ‘jewel’, the emphasis here is more on style and looks – it features a metallic effect strip that runs around the edge and an elegantly curved plastic body.

The Samsung Galaxy Gio features a 3.2-inch touchscreen, a 3-megapixel camera and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo. This means you get access to all of the basic Google features and services – Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube – and download the majority of the apps and games available on the Android Market.

The large Google Search widget at the top means you can easily reach out to search for information on the web and Google Maps, working with the Gio’s GPS, means that you can easily find your way around.

You can customise the layout of the Galaxy Gio with widgets, wallpapers and app shortcuts downloaded from the Android Market, or create and make your own backgrounds with pictures taken on the camera or downloaded from the web.

The Samsung Galaxy Gio is aimed at buyers after a simple touchscreen phone that looks good and does the basics on a shoestring.
