Samsung Galaxy Nexus volume bug fix rolls out

Having promised a fix for the volume bug affecting the European release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it looks like an OTA update is rolling out as we type.

The infamous bug that plagued early adopter’s handsets has resulted in Galaxy Nexus units being recalled for tinkering. The bug forced volume to drop usually when connected in 2G mode, reportedly making phone calls impossible for some users.

With MoDaCo rolling out a volume bug fix just three days ago, Google are pretty quick off the mark when taking into account all the logistics of getting an OTA update out.

While our unit is yet to get the fix, you can check to see if yours has by going into:

Setting > About phone > System updates > Check now

If your unit isn’t getting the update and you’re feeling somewhere between brave and impatient, you could always force the update on your handset. Android Central have created a guide to manually flash the fix onto – though suffice to say, this should be done at your own risk and will void your warranty.
