Samsung Galaxy S II available in UK from 1st May on all networks

Samsung UK has revealed that, in spite of rumoured delays, UK customers will be able to get their hands on the very desirable Samsung Galaxy S II from 1st May 2011.

Samsung say that the dual-core monster will be available from all the major phone networks and retailers, so you should be able to find the ideal network tariff.

Samsung’s new flagship phone, it will have a dual-core processor, alongside a 4.27-inch touchscreen; the first to have their latest, brightest, sharpest Super AMOLED Plus display.

Somehow slimmer than the iPhone 4,  at just under 8.5mm,  and weighing under 120g, there’s dual cameras, front and rear-facing. The main camera is an 8-megapixel affair, capable of full HD 1080 video-recording.

The dual-core processor, now said to be 1.2GHz- it should be fast, and Sammy are promising that switching between applications, running games and videos will be a breeze.

Simon Stanford, managing director for mobile at Samsung UK and Ireland said: “From the moment it was revealed at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona there has been a huge buzz about the Galaxy S II, so we’re pleased to announce that it will be available for UK customers to buy from 1st May.

“Our slimmest, lightest, fastest smartphone is our first device to offer of Super AMOLED Plus screen technology, alongside the most advanced technical specifications including the latest Android OS and a dual core processor. We’re confident it’s a great package for anyone wanting a superior smartphone experience.”

Like the rest of the mob of Samsung Galaxy phones, the Galaxy S II can connect to their range of hubs, with downloadable videos, music, games and social network management.
