Barely half an hour into the Samsung Unpacked press event, and we can already tell you that their alpha-male phone, the Samsung Galaxy S II, will be arriving in the UK on the Three network.
The sequel to the Galaxy S- a phone that has so far sold over 10 million worldwide- it’ll be joining the dual-core club of phones, with two processors promising faster internet, reliable streaming and better games.
Being on Three Mobile means that you’ll be able to make the most of its streaming skills through their all-you-can-eat data deal.
The eye-watering SAMOLED Plus screen was visible from the stage when presented to the audience at Samsung’s press event.
It’ll also have the latest Smartphone version of Android, Gingerbread; meaning the fastest running Android, and the best Google goodies, including the Google Maps in 3D.
That SAMOLED Plus screen will be perfect for showing off any pictures or HD videos captured through the phone’s eight-megapixel camera.
Despite all these high-end specs, and despite a substantial 1650 mAH battery, it weights only 116g, and measures a wafer-thin 8.49mm. Cue the sound of trumpet fanfare; this is (for now) the world’s slimmest phone. Sorry Xperia Arc, your time is up.
Inside there, it’ll come with Samsung’s own Find My Phone program, Samsung Dive, which will let you track, and, if it comes to it, wipe your phone remotely from a PC.
Three are still keeping schtum on exact dates and prices, but expect to hear something soon. More details, and some hands-on views, coming soon.
