We’re only now nearing the halfway point of 2012 but the Samsung Galaxy S3 is already laying claim to a prestigious title, “biggest selling handset of the year”, at Phones 4U at least. The high street and online retailer has revealed that Samsung’s hotly anticipated new flagship has smashed both pre-order and opening day sales records across all 600 of their stores.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 has already broken a Phones4U record, becoming the most pre-ordered handset in the company’s history.
Aside from being the newest flagship handset on the scene, the Samsung Galaxy S3’s legacy placed it in good stead for opening week, with last year’s Samsung Galaxy S2 becoming the best selling handset of 2011. Phones 4U put the S3’s opening day success down to its JUMP (Just Upgrade My Phone) contracts, which allow customers to upgrade their smartphones as often as every six months.
Phones 4U hosted the specialised PINs, the purpose-built popup, which have appeared in locations such as the Westfield London.
For those who don’t know, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the second quad-core smartphone on the market and Samsung’s new flagship for 2012. It also has a huge amount of versatility which we discovered when it ran our gauntlet last week.
