Android 4.3 has been spotted and alluded to several times in the past, and today we have another indication that the update will soon be pushed out. SamMobile has received some screenshots from a tipster that shows Android 4.3 running on a Google Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Still, there isn’t any firm information on exactly what the update will bring. We do know, however, that the Google Editions of the Galaxy S4 and HTC One have an updated and improved camera interface, just like what was running on the Android 4.3-powered Nexus 4 recently seen in Thailand. Other than that, things have been quiet surrounding the update, so it’s probably going to be a minor refresh.
At least we know that Samsung has early access to Android 4.3, possibly indicating that OEMs are finally seeing the fruits of the Android PDK. That program was designed to give manufacturers early access to upcoming Android builds in an attempt to speed up updates and cut down on fragmentation. If Samsung is already working on Android 4.3, then it may be able to push out some quick updates for devices other than the Google Edition of the Galaxy S4.
SamMobile doesn’t have a firm date for when we’ll see Android 4.3, but its sources indicate that it will be announced sometime in July.
