Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom pictures leaked

Live pictures of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom have leaked ahead of its launch, showing a slimmer phone than last year’s hefty Galaxy S4 Zoom.

Pictures of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom have leaked online, ahead of its launch in Singapore on April 29th, and we’re immediately intrigued.

The big problem with last year’s Galaxy S4 Zoom was the fact that it barely qualified as a phone, with being so chunky and heavy – it was more of a camera with smartphone features, the best bit being that powerful 10x zoom lens. However, these leaked Galaxy S5 Zoom pics show a much thinner mobile (even if it’s not quite as slender as Nokia’s powerful Lumia 1020 cameraphone, which admittedly lacks the optical zoom).

Rumours have the Galaxy S5 Zoom packing some decent mid-range specs including a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED 720p HD display, a Hexa-Core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory expandable via a microSD card slot. A little disappointing for anyone after top-end mechanics, but the 20-megapixel rear-facing camera boasting a 10x optical zoom is the main draw, making this an immediate candidate for best mobile camera of 2014.

These photos show the jutty-out hand grip has disappeared, which should make the Galaxy S5 Zoom a lot less troubling for the prostate than the Galaxy S4 Zoom. The camera lens also appears to be a lot more flush with the back of the Galaxy S5 Zoom, helped by the lens being paritioned into three sections when zoomed out. Samsung has also added the bevelled texture effect to the rear of the phone, previously seen on the Galaxy S5.
