Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 to get announced tomorrow?

With the tech-world still reeling after the iPad 3 iPad HD new iPad launch yesterday, Samsung could be getting ready to steal the spotlight and take centre stage with their Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6. Pocket-lint have just reported from a source close to the matter that the larger slate originally reported in December of last year will get its official unveiling tomorrow.

Where will this take place? The SXSW event in Austin Texas apparently where Samsung is expected to make a special announcement tomrorow at 4pm local time (10pm GMT).

So how will Samsung rival Apple’s new 2048 x 1536 pixel display? After Apples jab at Samsung yesterday during the announcement, Samsung would have to better it of course. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 is expected to debunk the new iPad from the pixel-count top spot with a 2560 x 1600 pixel display. With more pixels, it would be beyond immersive and with just 3 less PPI (260.25), pixel density would be very comparable.

Other specs expected to arrive on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 include a 2GHz dual-core Exynos 520 chip and Android 4.0. With no comment from Samsung, all we can do is wait and see what goes down tomorrow night and pray to higher powers that Samsung don’t go and drop a name like “The new Galaxy Tab” on us. Unless of course it’s in jest. That, would be funny.
