Samsung launches Premium Android App Store

Samsung is introducing a new app store. The Premium Samsung Apps Store for Android offers a selection of paid for titles, alongside the existing free apps.

Among the titles on offer are The Sims 3 HD, Need for Speed Shift HD and 9mm, along with Zenonia (which is currently available for Windows Mobile), these will be available from the Samsung Apps Store for Android.

Interestingly, in the future purchases from the Samsung Premium App Store will be added to the users mobile phone bill or taken off the sim card balance, instead of the existing system of being paid for using a credit card.

Simon Stanford from Samsung UK and Ireland said:In the spirit of providing Android users with the best possible mobile experience, it is our intention to continue to develop this premium service to ensure our customers have access to all the latest great content on Android.”

The UK is one of the first countries to have access to premium app store, which is supposed to be available via Samsung Apps today, although we’ve just checked and the fore mentioned titles don’t appear to be there just yet.
