Sonim, purveyor of notoriously tough phones, has just announced the XP2 Spirit. The Sonim XP2 Spirit is the first rugged mobile to feature 3G. Designed for outdoor sports enthusiasts and those who work in extreme environements, the Sonim XP2 Spirit can take a great deal of punishment.
The Sonim XP2 Spirit has a bounce-tastic octagonal shape to better withstand drops and its 2-inch display is protected by a 1.5mm thick layer of durable Gorilla glass. It can withstand being submerged in water for half an hour and the speaker has been made waterproof with Gore-Tex.
On the back there’s a 3-megapixel camera with LED flash, so once you reach the top of that mountain you can take a picture of that great view and email it to your mates or send it via MMS (provided there is signal, of course).
Sonim is so confident in the XP2 Spirit that it is offering it with an unconditional 3 year guarantee. We’ve been told that it will be out in the UK in about six to eight weeks. No word on price yet.
