Swype is pretty popular. It’s pretty good too! Do you know who else noticed that? Sony Ericsson.
Along with the Android 2.3.4 update coming shortly to Xperia handsets, the line of smartphones will be seeing “gesture input”, or Sony’s version of Swype. You just slide your finger along the keyboard to piece letters and words together rather than hunting and pecking. There’s also an option to add automatic spacing so you get message and Twitter like a fiend with no downtime.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but I doubt the people behind Swype are blushing. Check out the video below to see Sony’s implementation in action.
