The Mix Walkman, announced a few months back by Sony Ericsson, is available to order from Vodafone now for the super-low price of £80, plus an obligatory £10 top up.
There’s just 100MB of internal storage but naturally there’s a microSD slot, which can handle cards of up to 32GB in size. So for £90 plus the cost of whatever memory card you want, you could get yourself a very inexpensive PMP.
Other features of the Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman include a fairly basic 3-megapixel camera (no flash) and a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen.
Though the Mix Walkman doesn’t run on Android (it’s a proprietary OS) it borrow the same ‘corners’ style user interface seen on Sony Ericsson’s Android phopnes like the Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro.
As its name suggests, it’s also a phone aimed at music lovers; there’s a ‘Zappin’ key that allows you to preview tracks as you search for them. There’s also a Karaoke mode, which fades down the vocals so you can belt out your own renditions of Bonkers to the delight of everyone else on the bus. Perfect.
