Sony Ericsson have kept rather quite on the Xperia Pro, an Android smartphone featuring a slide-out Qwerty keyboard spotted at the start of the year. It’s now appeared on Sony Ericsson’s online store, SIM-free for £349.99.
Aside from the sliding features, the Xperia Pro looks very similar to its stable-mate, the Xperia Neo, another phone expected to arrive in June.
Features-wise, the Xperia Pro will have very latest very of Android, Gingerbread (2.3) and will get those FaceBook inside Xperia features revealed by Sony Ericsson earlier this year.
The Xperia Pro’s 3.7-inch screen gets Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine, for better contrast and blacker blacks, while the slide-out keyboard has been labelled “Perfect Qwerty” by SE; boasting ‘optimised key spacing’ and raised keys for ‘best tactility’.
It also has a special Exmor R image sensor for the camera, an 8.1-megapixel affair capable of high-definition video. The Exmor sensor should ensure better results in low light- which it seemed to do on the Xperia Arc.
