It’s refreshing to see a mobile manufacturer throw something out there that looks like the sort of phone Spock would order a pizza with. At a recent event, Sony Ericsson unveiled the Pureness (pictured), a ‘holiday from technology’ according to the press release.
While you ponder what taking a holiday from technology would be like, we’ll move on to what the Pureness offers. A hard to miss transparent screen provides an unusual focal point for an otherwise basic phone.
There’s not much to go on right now but the ‘talk, text, time’ tagline suggests an über basic handset, aimed at fashionistas. We’ll reserve judgement until we get one in. The Xperia Pureness is due to launch this November, so we’ll update you then.
In addition to this futuristic looking phone, Sony Ericsson is attempting to change its branding but we’re not sure we get the new ‘make.believe’ brand message. What we really want to see is Sony Ericsson producing quality phones, not marketing spiel.
