We expected a September launch date for the Sony S1, now officially know as the Tablet S, and Dixons has confirmed both the price and release dates for here in the UK.
You can expect to get your hands on the 9.4-inch Android Honeycomb tablet on the 23rd September, with prices starting at £399.99 for the WiFi model, £499.99 for the 16GB 3G option, and the same for the 32GB WiFi-only tablet.
With a unique curved edge and profile, the new tablet’s design has been described by Sony as having an ‘off-centre of gravity form factor’ – hopefully making it more stable to hold.
Powered by Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 2 processor, both tablets are set to arrive with PlayStation Certification – meaning more PlayStation gaming goodness – and hopefully an expanded games library tieing into the launch.
No news yet on its dual-screen, clamshell brother, the Tablet P (previously condenamed the S2.)
