Sony Xperia Arc HD/Nozomi leaks, confirms 720p display

Why hello there, Sony Ericsson Nozomi! Or is it the Xperia Arc HD? Either way, Sony is cooking up something that looks delicious.

We heard a couple of days ago that Sony were planning on a 720p screen for their next device, and now there are photos to prove it. Looks like Sony’s next offering will indeed be rocking a 4.3-inch 1280×720 screen. As for the camera, PhoneArena did a bit of digging and revealed that it will be a massive 12 megapixels. Taking pictures at that resolution will give you 4:3 full frame photos, while shooting with a 16:9 ratio will give you 9 megapixels.

In any event, 720p displays are going to be all the rage moving forward. Other specs supposedly include a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and Android 2.3.5. Before you cry out at the lack of Ice Cream Sandwich, it could be that Sony are simply testing on Gingerbread and that the final phone will ship with ICS. We won’t be seeing it until next year either way.
