Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro Preview

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and the Xperia Arc might have got the headlines, for Playstation links and outstanding screen and curved design respectively, but Sony Ericsson quietly introduced another handset

Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro specs includes a Reality Display 3.7-inch touchscreen with a respectable resolution of 854×480 and Sony Ericsson’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine helps ensure it is crisp and clear.

Clearly aimed at the business users, the Xperia Pro is the series’ full QWERTY offering, with a slide out keyboard for texting and emailing. A new feature is Type & Send. Here instead of opening each messaging application individually, use one single application to write a message and then choose to send it multiple places including: Facebook, email and What’s App.

The business theme continues with the introduction of OfficeSuite Pro and support for Microsoft Exchange synchronisation.

The 8-megapixel camera includes the Exmor R sensor for improved low-light performance, helped by the bright f/2.4 lens. Elsewhere the Xperia Pro captures 720p HD video which you can play back on a high definition television using the HDMI output.

Like its Xperia stable mates the Pro is powered by a single-core instead of dual core processor.
Other connections include A2DP, WiFi , GPS and a 3.5mm jack for music playback. Other interesting music features include: TrackID, xLOUD techno logy to enhance speaker performance

First impressions of the Pro are very promising, we’re glad Sony Ericsson has retain so many of the features we loved from the Arc, could this be the full QWERTY Android phones we’ve been looking for since the HTC Desire Z? The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro will be available in July; we’ll bring a full review as soon as we get the handset.
