Sony Mobile’s new diminutive Android handset, the Xperia Tipo now looks set to arrive earlier than originally anticipated, with availability already cropping up on Carphone Warehouse’s website. The Tipo is was originally slated for an August 20th arrival and now appears to be making it to stores in a week’s time.
What’s the Sony Xperia Tipo?
The Inquirer spotted that Carphone Warehouse are now offering the Sony Xperia Tipo on their website, although store availability is unconfirmed. Despite being an entry level handset, the Tipo does offer the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. When can I pick one up?
The larger Xperia Miro and the tougher Xperia Go also made it to pre-order around the same time and with the arrival of the Tipo, Sony have now arranged their complete mid-to-low end device portfolio out. How much will it cost?
Although pre-orders of the Tipo priced it at £149.99 SIM free, the lowest tariff Carphone Warehouse currently list it with is a £7.50 a month, 24 month contract from Talk Mobile with no extra handset cost. Within that tariff you’re granted 250 minutes, 5000 texts and 500MB of data. Meanwhile PAYG customers should be able to pick a Tipo up from £89.95 on Orange or Vodafone.
