Sony’s latest range of Xperia phones – the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia Z5 Compact – have been unveiled. Here’s which UK networks have confirmed that they’re selling the new Sony 2015 smartphones.
At the time of writing, only O2, EE and Vodafone have come out of the woodwork to confirm that they’ll be selling some (or all) of Sony’s Xperia Z5 family. Here’s all the price and release date information we have at the moment. Plase note that we’ll update this article as netowrks confirm more details.
Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium SIM-free UK price
Sony has confirmed that the Z5 will cost £549 SIM-free here in the UK, while the Compact will cost £429. Meanwhile the Z5 Premium, the world’s first 4K phone, will cost a whopping £629.
EE – Sony Xperia Z5, Premium and Compact, all with WiFi Calling
EE is taking pre-orders for all the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact now and it plans to sell the Premium edition later in the year. Release dates for all three phones are TBC.
For those who simply must colour-coordinate, the Xperia Z5 will be available in both graphite black and gold, while the Xperia Z5 Compact will only come in black from EE. Colour options for the 4K-tastic Xperia Z5 Premium haven’t been announced.
Whichever option you go for, you’ll be able to make use of EE’s built-in WiFi Calling feature.

O2 – Sony Xperia Z5 and Compact – yellow exclusive
O2 will be selling the Xperia Z5 and Compact later this year. There’s no option to pre-order just yet and there’s no release dates, nor is there word on whether or not it’ll be selling the Sony’s supermassive the Xperia Z5 Premium.
O2 has announced that it will be exclusively selling the Xperia Z5 Compact in yellow, which is good news for Norwich City fans, we guess.

Carphone Warehouse – Sony Xperia Z5 and Compact – white exclusive
You can now pre-order both phones with an exclusive white option on both the Z5 and the Z5 Compact. The Z5 costs £40 per month with a £30 one-off fee, while the Compact costs £30 per month with a £60 one-off fee.
Three – Sony Xperia Z5 in green and black plus the Z5 Compact
Sony’s Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will be sold by Three. It’s not been confirmed if either phone will be able to make use of Three’s VoLTE (4G voice calls) service and (eventually) WiFi Calling. We imagine that they would, but it’s not been confirmed.
We do know that the Xperia Z5 will be available in both green and black on Three, with the Xperia Z5 Compact only available in black.
Three has just announced the Xperia Z5 UK pricing, with contracts starting at £39 a month with an up-front £39 charge. That bags you 1GB of data and AYCE everything else. Bump up the monthly cost to £48 for 8GB of data or £54 for AYCE.
The Xperia Z5 Compact will be £36 a month for 1GB of data, with a £29 up-front cost. Bump up to £43 for 4GB and £49 for AYCE data.

Vodafone – Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact confirmed
Vodafone has announced that it’ll be selling both the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact. No word on prices, pre-order dates or release dates yet.
We don’t know if the Xperia Z5 Premium will ever be up for order from Vodafone. The jury’s still out on that one.
While Vodafone has declined to mention which colour variants (if any) it’ll be getting, we noticed on this blog post that it’s got screengrabs of the Xperia Z5 in both green and black, suggesting it’ll be getting those.
