Getting your hands on a cheap tablet to go alongside your phone isn’t too much of a struggle, but what if you want to bundle the two together? TalkTalk thinks it may be able to entice some customers with its latest offer. The network is offering a free Huawei 7-inch MediaPad Lite along with a Huawei Ascend Y210 for just £10 a month.
That sounds super cheap, but remember, you’re not getting a powerful phone or tablet. Still, for those who only need the basics covered, both devices should suffice. The Huawei Ascend Y210 is a very basic offering, featuring a 3.5-inch 480×320 display, a single-core processor clocked at 1Ghz, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of internal storage, and a 2-megapixel camera, all running on Android.
The MediaPad Lite 7, meanwhile, features a 7-inch 1024×600 display, a single-core 1.2Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a 3-megapixel camera. There’s also a microSD card slot for expandable storage up to 32GB and optional 3G connectivity. It’s a little on the chunky side, though, coming in around 11mm thick and weighing 370 grams.
Both devices are included on the £10 a month Small tariff, which will net you 100 minutes, 250 texts, and 200MB of data. It’s a 24-month contract, though, so you’ll need to decide whether you can live with Huawei’s entry-level devices for a whole two years.
