The Darkness get festive with Robot Unicorn Attack Christmas Edition

The Darkness’ ‘Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bells End)’ is up there with the best festive songs in history.

Yes, even Slade, Wizzard, The Waitresses and the entire Phil Spector album. Armed only with a double-necked guitar, a choir of cherubic kids and high-quality Rug Action, the band created a stone-cold Christmas classic.

Why burble on about it now? Because it’s the soundtrack to the latest iPhone version of Robot Unicorn Attack, following in the hoof-steps of the original game (which used Erasure) and the Heavy Metal edition (which opted for, er, Blind Guardian).

The gameplay remains the same, just more snowy and sparkly, as your unicorn runs, jumps and dashes to collect sugar plums while avoiding snowflakes. The unicorn now has a red nose, and Game Center is plumbed in to compare your best scores with friends.

And, like we said, the soundtrack is ace.
