The Telegraph? On a computer touchscreen tablet device? It’s enough to have Major Bufton-Tuftons spluttering into their teacups all over Blighty.
Yet it’s true: the broadsheet newspaper has launched its official iPad app, which joins the existing iPhone version on the App Store.
The app promises to offer ‘the best of the Telegraph’, including UK and World news, sport, business, comment, features and analysis, and a daily cartoon. The app is updated at 5am every morning British-time with that day’s content, with users able to then read it offline.
How much does it cost? Nothing. Well, for now anyway. The app is described as being “free for a limited period in partnership with Audi”, following the sponsorship pattern laid down a few months ago by the Financial Times’ iPad app.
