Samsung Galaxy Mega now available on Three

If you want a phone that’s dangerously close to a tablet, why not considering the Galaxy Mega? It might not be able to boast the same impressive specs as the Galaxy Note 2, but the large 6.3-inch display is the biggest you can get without veering into tablet territory right now. Best of all, it’s now available to buy on Three.

Three will be offering the Galaxy Mega on contract as well as pay as you go. The network says that the handset will be available for free on its Ultimate Internet 500 plan, which will run you £33 a month. That includes 500 minutes, 5,000 texts, and all you can eat data on a two-year contract. If you don’t want to sign a lengthy agreement, though, then you can pick up the Mega for £449.99 on pay as you go.

That seems a little pricey considering that the Galaxy Note 2 can be found for cheaper ahead of the release of the rumoured Galaxy Note 3. The Galaxy Mega only has a dual-core processor compared to the Note 2’s quad-core chip, and you lose out on the Wacom stylus support. Still, if screen real estate is what you’re really after, then the Mega is the obvious choice, featuring a 6.3-inch 720p display compared to the Note 2’s 5.5-inches. Other specs include an 8-megapixel camera, 8GB of internal storage, and a 3,200mAh battery.

The Galaxy Mega can be ordered from Three’s website right now, and the company says that the device should be available in-store starting from today as well. if you’re still torn on pulling the trigger, then make sure to watch our hands-on impressions with the Mega to help you decide.
