Trainz railroad simulator choo-choos onto iPad

Trainz Simulator claims to be “the most realistic Train Simulator on the iPad”. A claim to which there are few suitable responses other than this: ‘There are others?’

It’s true though. Trainz is actually a PC franchise that’s been going for ten years, allowing proper rail buffs to create their own virtual train tracks and then test them out in glorious 3D.

The iPad version costs £6.99, and brings the experience to Apple’s tablet. Developer N3V Games says it’s possible to be up and running within minutes, too, opening it out to more casual players as well as the hardcore. But if you fall into the latter camp, you’ll find plenty to sink your teeth into too.

Can you run a network into the ground while rolling out excuses about the wrong type of snow though? Watch this space…
