Vine web profiles and fullscreen mode swing on to TVs

Vine has launched web profiles, letting its millions of users get to know each other better from the comfort of their desktops and engage a fullscreen ‘TV mode’.

The Twitter-for-video service, which lets you post short 6-second clips recorded on your iOSAndroid and Windows Phone 8 devices, didn’t until recently have a few for users to browse full profiles on desktop browsers.

While you could always watch Vine clips from the comfort of your desk, there wasn’t a way for you to binge-watch a series of videos before.

Now you can share your profile with others, check out your followers videos Vines and see all the videos they’ve posted since joining.

Hitting the new TV mode button on the top right will engage a fullscreen mode which will start a playlist of Vines.

Vine engineer Janessa Det says that this is just the beginning. “This release is just a first step toward bringing you a richer, more enjoyable web experience. We look forward to introducing more improvements in 2014,” Det said in a blog post.

Perhaps Vine will finally give us video uploads a la Instagram or maybe it will make the full transition to desktops and let you record using your webcam.
