Virgin Media is introducing a new mobile phone tariff called Premiere, including all-you-can-eat data and free insurance for Virgin customers.
Starting from £26 a month over 24-months, Premiere offers customers 2500 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited calls to UK landlines and truly unlimited data. Virgin Media customers get a £5 discount on the Premiere tariff, reducing the price to just £21 a month with unlimited calls and texts to other Virgin customers.
Handsets available free on the Premiere tariff include the Samsung Galaxy Ace which costs £28 (£23 for Virgin customers) and £32 for Samsung Galaxy Ace and HTC Desire C (£28 for Virgin Customers). The Samsung Galaxy S3 is available on Premiere priced £41 a month.
Virgin Media cable and national customers can enjoy another benefit: free insurance for the life of the tariff. Priced £7.99 for non-mobile customers; loss, accidental damage, water and liquid damage and theft and 24-hour handset replacement are all included. Mobile Rescue back-ups contacts and offers a remote lock and locate feature.

Virgin Media is introducing three other 24-month tariffs. ‘Premiere 08’ starts at £33 (£28 for Virgin customers) and offers the same number of minutes, unlimited data and text as Premiere, but includes 500 minutes of calls to 0800, 0845, 0870 and 0808 numbers. ‘Starter’ costs from £18 a month (£13 for Virgin customers) with 200 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB data and ‘Essential’ which starts at £23 (£18 for customers) a month with 600 minutes, unlimited text and 1GB data.
In addition to the new tariffs, Customers can now swap between tariffs at any time during the life of the contract without penalty, whether moving to a more expensive or cheaper tariff, a reassuring feature in in uncertain financial times.
It’s not just Virgin’s Pay Monthly offering that has been refreshed, Starter, Essential and Premiere are available on SIM-only. Premiere starts at £25 a month, dropping to £20 for existing Virgin Media customers, unlimited data is only available to those customers.
Virgin Media runs on T-Mobile UK’s network, so since the merger with Everything Everywhere customers can uses Orange’s network – the largest 3G network in the UK and get a three-month Spotify premium subscription.
The new tariffs are available today, existing Virgin Media mobile customers can upgrade if their contract is up for renewal. More information is available from www.virginmedia.com
