Vodafone delivers Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S2

If you were drumming your fingers and sighing heavily while you waited for Vodafone’s Android 4.0 update to show up yesterday then relax, the wait is over and you can now run Ice Cream Sandwich on the Samsung Galaxy S2.

Vodafone had predicted that the ICS update would appear on 12 April and the Kies version has arrived just one day late.

However, there’s fittingly bad news on this Friday the 13th for those waiting for the over-the-air update, who have more drumming of fingers and sighing in their immediate future. That’s because the OTA update won’t land until next Tuesday, 17 April.

Vodafone said on its official blog that the ICS update was rolling out “after careful testing”.

Some users had difficulties installing Samsung’s update using Kies thanks to a USB connection issue that displayed a “Device Unknown” message.

Check out the Vodafone eForum for more information on the upgrade process.
