Vodafone’s UK CEO, Guy Laurence (pictured), is probably feeling great today given that Vodafone has just launched the iPhone. The iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS are both available to buy now on a range of 18 and 24 month Vodafone contracts. The cheapest option is an iPhone 3G for £99 on an 18 month contract that costs £30 a month. The more expensive options include a free iPhone 3GS (32GB) on an 18 or 24 month contract costing £80 and £75 a month respectively.

In addition to launching the iPhone 3G and 3GS, Vodafone has announced two new iPhone apps. The Vodafone 360 people sync app pulls contact information from your old phone so if you were looking to upgrade today you won’t be faced with the prospect of having to manually input all your numbers into your new iPhone. It’s not exclusive to Vodafone, so if you’re on O2, Orange or any other network you can also transfer your contact details. The Vodafone navigation app turns your iPhone into a sat-nav. The app includes turn-by-turn navigation and voice instructions as well as speed camera alerts.
