Wednesday Deals: Apple iPhone 4S, Nokia Lumia 710, HTC Radar and more

This week’s Wednesday Deals is a bit of a cornucopia; we’ve got cheap Windows Phones (the Nokia Lumia 710 and HTC Radar), budget Android phones and tablets (the Samsung Galaxy Europa and Huawei S7 Slim) and a great Apple iPhone 4S deal from Tesco.

With the Apple iPad 3 due to be unveiled tonight you’d be forgiven for thinking that we’d have packed out this week’s Wednesday Deals with the best iPad 2 prices going. Well we did, we did it two days ago in fact – check out our how to get a cheap iPad 2 guide here.

Without further ado, here’s our selection of what we reckon are the best phone and tablet deals going this week.

Nokia Lumia 710 – £150 on Vodafone Pay As You Talk with a 6 month Zune Music Pass

We love the Nokia Lumia 710. It’s small, but packed with great features like Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps and naturally does everything you’d expect a Windows Phone device to do.

It’s not been priced quite as aggressively as we’d like at most quarters, but this deal from Vodafone is worth investigating. £150 will get you the Nokia Lumia 710 on Vodafone Pay & Talk and if you order by the end of the month, then Vodafone will throw in a 6 month Zune Music Pass for good measure.

Mircosoft’s music streaming/downloading platform normally costs £8.99 a month for a subscription, so this deal saves you nearly £54 (£53.94). So not only do you get a decent phone for a not bad price but you get 6 months of all the music you can download from Zune as well. [link]

HTC Radar – £209.99 from Amazon

The HTC Radar is similar in specifications to the Nokia Lumia 710 and doesn’t come with the Nokia Drive sat-nav feature. However you get access to HTC Watch on the Radar, HTC’s on-demand movies platform, and additional fun camera filters that you don’t on the Lumia 710.

Style-wise the HTC Radar’s single unibody block of dense metal arguably is more of a looker. Design is a subjective thing when it comes to phones for sure but for those who think the metallic styles are a cut above moulded plastic then the HTC Radar might be a better bet.

Going for £209.99 on Amazon, there’s only eight of these left in stock at the time of writing, with more stock expected soon. [link]

Samsung Galaxy Europa – £39.95 on Three Pay As You Go via Carphone Warehouse

The Samsung Galaxy Europa is very much yesterday’s phone and even for its time it wasn’t the best Android phone out there. But for £40 on Three Pay As You Go, you’d be hard pressed to find a touchscreen phone that’s not resistive and does the basics effortlessly.

For calls and texts, the Samsung Galaxy Europa will sort you out and Google Maps will see you able to get around easily. There’s a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well, so in a pinch the Galaxy Europa can double as a replacement portable music player. [link]

Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim – £109.99 from Expansys

£100-odd for an Android tablet? Bargain is right. For your money you get Android 2.2 Froyo (were you really expecting Ice Cream Sandwich?) a 7-inch 800×480 (WVGA) resolution screen, a 3.2-megapixel main camera and a 0.3-megapixel front camera.

There’s also an HDMI port so you can full screen whatever you’ve got on your IDEOS S7 Slim on a compatible HD TV. [link]

Apple iPhone 4S 16GB – free £32 a month on O2 via Tesco Phone Shop

A 24 month deal for the Apple iPhone 4S on O2 via Tesco Phone Shop sees you picking up a 16GB edition of the iPhone 4S for free on a £32 plan.

£32 a month gives you 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data with a bolt-on of 20 MMS messages included, i.e. the first 20 picture messages you send won’t be taken out of your monthly allowance. [link]
