WhatsApp for iOS updated with iCloud backups and multiple photo attachments

WhatsApp is on of the most popular mobile messaging solutions, but the app has been missing a few key features. The latest update for iOS seems to add exactly what has been absent, though, with the developers adding the ability to send multiple photos, as well as conversation backups using iCloud.

Sending more than one photo to another contact through WhatsApp has also been a hassle, with the app only supporting one photo at a time in the past. The latest iOS update will now let you select and send multiple photos. And you don’t need to worry about losing your conversations when moving to a new iOS device either. The messaging app now includes to option to backup all messages to iCloud, with WhatsApp automatically uploading a copy of your chat history whenever the iPhone is plugged into a power source.

Finally, WhatsApp has dropped its upfront cost. In the past the iOS app cost £0.69 to download. Now, however, anyone can download the app for free, with the app instead charging $0.99 a year for a subscription to the messaging service. That seems fair enough, especially considering the amount of money you’re saving over traditional text and media messages. The update is available on the App Store right now, so head over and get downloading.
