If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the availability of the white iPhone 4, then I’m afraid we have some bad news for you. The inherent complications of using white materials instead of black mean that you won’t be seeing that dreamy white handset under your Christmas tree. Or under your January tree. Or even under the first emerging snowdrops of late winter – no, you’ll be waiting until spring 2011 at the very earliest.
No one really knows why – perhaps Apple is trying out a fix to the antenna issues, or perhaps they’re just playing a clever, albeit annoying, PR game. All we have from Apple is a statement from spokesperson Trudy Muller, “We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone again.” [via Reuters]
