There have been a flurry of rumours recently surrounding the next iPhone, so much so that there’s conflicting speculation as to whether Apple is going to release one or two handsets. Engadget has received a picture of AT&T’s internal customer service system listing an iPhone 4S alongside the current models.
Not only that, but the phone is listed as coming in white, suggesting that Apple will ship both black and white models at launch. The white iPhone 4 suffered massive delays due to the complications in how the colour would interfere with the phone’s sensors, and also degrade cosmetically over time.
While the AT&T inventory listing backs up rumours of a 4S model, it doesn’t reveal if Apple will only be releasing the 4S, or also a redesigned iPhone 5 as well. Information from Vodafone UK seemed to confirm that the iPhone 5 would be available in white and black in 16GB and 32GB capacities.
Could Apple possibly releasing two phones, with the iPhone 4s fitting in like the iPhone 3G to 3GS. Perhaps with a more powerful processor?
Just last week the CEO of Orange France revealed that the iPhone 5 was being released in France on October 15th. Rumours have pegged the new model(s) for an October launch, so we’ll know soon enough what Cupertino’s plans are.
