Xperia Play and Optimus 3D priced: Over £500 at Play.com

Two of the more different phones coming soon to the UK; both Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play and the LG Optimus 3D, have been spotted at Play.com.

The price is for the SIM-free model, expect to pay a lot less if you’re getting the phone on contract. The Xperia Play is set at £519.99, while the glasses-free Optimus 3D will set you back £514.99.

The Xperia Play is selling itself as the gaming phone, with slide-out PlayStation controls, and the promise of ‘classic’ PlayStation games on launch. This is the first phone officially PlayStation certified, but that won’t be exclusive to the Play- expect to see more phone capable of PlayStation gaming by the end of 2011.

The Optimus 3D has both a 3D screen, in addition to dual-lens rear cameras, capable of record in those three dimensions. If the phone’s own 4.3-inch screen isn’t big enough to show off your 3D videos, you can also attach the phone through its own HDMI port, or share it through YouTube’s 3D channel. The dual-core processor inside the Optimus 3D should make sure all that 3D goodness runs smoothly. More news on what UK network tariffs and pricing when it’s released.
