In the midst of all this iPad 2 pricing, queuing and reviewing (soon!), lest we forget Sony Ericsson’s latest Xperia smartphone range is approaching the shops.
Three UK have revealed their pricing for them, and it may just sting a little.
For the PlayStation-certified Xperia Play, Three’s One Plan (with unlimited data on your phone) will be £40 per month, with an additional £49 up-front.
The other option is a £35 plan, 500 minutes , anytime, any network, 5000 texts and 1GB of data. Again, you’ll have to hand-out £ at the start. This time, £100. Ouch.
Both are on 24 month contracts, so you’d best really want to play some PlayStation on the go. We’re still on the fence until we get a phone model with the full range of release games.
The Play should be able to push out around five hours of gameplay until it needs a charge, while Playstation-esque controls slide out from the back of the phone.
The Xperia Arc, with its sleek profile, and impressive-looking 8.1-megapixel camera, with Sony’s Exmor light sensor, and more expertise from Sony’s camera background. It’s also capable high definition video recording.
Both phones promise to be running the very latest Android, Gingerbread, on release.
The Arc will be on Three’s One Plan for £40, for 24 months. (Nothing extra to pay at the start.)
There will be two other tariffs, priced at £35 and £38 respectively. The latter will give you 900 minutes compared to 500 on the cheaper tariff. Again, the plans include 5000 texts and 1GB of data per month.
