Another handset from Chinese mobile makers ZTE has appeared on our radar: the mid-range ZTE Warp.
Specs-wise, it’s a relatively serious-looking device. The Warp packs a 4.3-inch screen, a 1GHz processor and a 5MP camera. Wisely sticking with Android and resisting the urge to go proprietary, the ZTE Warp also comes running Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
From what we’ve heard, the ZTE Warp will be materialising exclusively across the pond for the time being, although ZTE does have a presence in the UK mobile market (see the budget ZTE Skate we reviewed two weeks ago). However, so far we’ve only seen budget offerings from ZTE, but its penchant for 4.3-inch screens makes us wonder if the company’s positioning itself for a run at the higher end of the Android mobile market. Could ZTE be the next HTC? Watch this space.
