LG G Watch pops up for pre-order online ahead of Google I/O 2014

LG has announced that the latest addition to its wearable portfolio – the highly anticipated G Watch – is finally available to pre-order at a cost for £159 in the UK.

The LG G Watch is expected to run Google’s Android Wear platform, which is set to be fully unveiled at the upcoming developer conference.

Information about the new wearable operating system is thin on the ground, although it will purportedly support Google Now-type functionality, and will allow you to pair your phone to your smartwatch over Bluetooth and control it without taking it out of your pocket. It should come as a surprise to nobody that the watch will also support third-party applications, served from its own app store.

Online retailer Mobile Fun is set to carry the device in the UK, and is offering the smartwatch in variants of Stealth Black and Champagne Gold, US consumers can pre-order the device from LG’s official store.

Full specifications of the LG G Watch leaked last week. The device will pack 4GB of storage, in addition to a 1.65-inch TFT screen. The device can chug along for 36 hours on its slightly wanting 400mAh before needing to be charged again.
