Nokia PureView: May release in select markets

Nokia’s super-camera phone, the 808 PureView may still be on pre-order in the UK, but its arrival in other markets will allow users to actually tame that 41-megapixel image sensor for themselves. The 808 PureView was Nokia’s big hitter at Mobile World Congress in February, with long discussions ensuing over the technical breakdown of its now legendary mobile photography talents.

Although consumers are yet to taste the PureView, Nokia haven’t been frugal with official photos, offering up a sizeable dose of images taken by the PureView at its full 38-megapixel output resolution. Word is, both the Russia and India will be the first markets to receive the PureView in stores, whilst a number of other “select markets” can hope to get it later this month.

Nokia are yet to confirm a UK release, so we recommend keeping an eye on the retail sites offering up those pre-orders, as they’ll be the ones most likely to let slip any arrival time. We can’t wait to get our hands on the 808 PureView and are already in the process of choosing phones to compare it with. Who knows, there could be a few wild cards making an appearance in our camera comparison too, on thing is for sure though, we hope it’s sooner rather than later.
