Sony Xperia S Android 4.0 ICS video leaks

The Sony Xperia S currently runs Gingerbread, but a rather interesting video has appeared showing the smartphone running Android 4.0: Ice Cream Sandwich.

Sony played an interesting game with its Android Ice Cream Sandwich update schedule. Although many were a little disheartened by the lack of ICS out of the box on the Sony Xperia S, Sony assured customers that it was on its way and would be available in the very near future.  Despite this promise, it was in fact the 2011 portfolio that was the first to taste some Sony-flavoured ICS. Although the roll out for the 2011 portfolio is still in full swing, the Xperia S looks to be next on the list for this all important update and users are patiently waiting until it materialises sometime in June. Seen on Xperia Blog the video showcases Android 4.0 on the Xperia S and is courtesy of Thai site SonyXP.com (although it has subsequently been removed twice). Apparently the feature the reviewer is demonstrating is the new Walkman app; effectively the renamed music player. ICS looks to bring more control to the lock screen as well. Still it’s worth a watch and should tide you over until you can pick it up on your own device, which should be within the next few weeks.
