Sony Xperia S coming soon to O2

As well as Three, O2 has confirmed via Twitter that it’ll be selling the Sony Xperia S as well. The Xperia S is set to be the first Sony-branded phone (pending regulatory approval) and it looks like a beast.

The Sony Xperia S oozes HD from every pore; the 4.3-inch screen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 (aka 720p), the 12-megapixel camera can record 1080p HD video and even the front-facing camera can record video at 720p.

Heading our way at the end of the first quarter of this year, the Sony Xperia S is going to ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread initially, but will get an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich later on. Coming with the Timescape and Facebook integration seen on phones like the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, it’s going to take a little while to stack these features on top of Ice Cream Sandwich.

No word on O2’s pricing plans for the Sony Xperia S yet, just the announcement that it’ll be sold by the blue network. Prices and all the rest when we hear it. Until then, here’s our Sony Xperia S hands-on pics and video.
