GTA 5 Fast & Furious video pays tribute to Paul Walker

A tribute to Fast & Furious 7 and the late Paul Walker made using Grand Theft Auto V has gone viral.

The video – made by YouTuber GTA Wise Guy – re-enacts a number of the scenes in the latest Fast & Furious movie using cars and customised characters from the popular video game, which involves playing as three violent characters who care little for the law.

It has been watched more than 2.3 million times and has earned 30,000 likes since it was released on the 28th of April, 2015.

Without wanting to spoil anything, a number of the best scenes are true to the film, including one of the final scenes in which Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O-Conner (Walker) have a drag race.

Some YouTubers have complained at using the console version of GTA 5 to make the film, pointing out the 4k-capable PC game would have looked much better. But most have commented it was a ‘touching’ tribute.

Walker was killed in a Porsche Carrera GT accident mid-way through filming the seventh movie, leading to speculation over how the film would be finished.

Diesel recently confirmed Fast & Furious 8 and that it would be in cinemas in 2017. The current film has raked in more than US$1billion so it is hardly surprising the show will go on without one of its stars.

Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Diesel said: “I swear to you and my brother upstairs, we are going to make the best movie you’ve ever seen.”

Three Polish chaps also made their own more silly, less heartfelt tribute to the movie, which is known as Furious 7 in the US.

We would recommend you check out the movie, but if you need a little more persuasion here’s our Fast & Furious 7 review.
