Chainsaw-wielding man in fishnet stockings chases ice-cream van down street, after stag-do “gets out of hand”
A man chased a Mr Whippy ice-cream van down the street wearing fishnet stockings while wielding a chainsaw. The man, in his 20s, was probably hoping for a 99 rather than a 999, but was arrested for disorderly behaviour in Rangoria, New Zealand, after the terrified ice-cream van driver rang the police.
Of course, a man in the area rocking fishnet stockings with an chainsaw as an accessory was easy for cops to spot. Sergeant Colin Stewart said: “It made him easy to identify. He was apologetic. It was more a disorderly behaviour thing than a direct threat [to the driver].”
The reason behind the man’s unusual attire: a stag-do which had “got out of hand.” After chasing the ice-cream van down the street, the man abandoned the mechanical saw and jumped into the passenger seat of the van.
Sgt Stewart said the offence was fuelled by alcohol after “an unusually hot day.” He added that he fully understood the fears of the van driver, but said: “it was a drunken antic. We used common sense and saw it as that.”
