Netflix UK to start exclusive third Killing season day after US broadcast

Netflix will be streaming episodes from the third season of The Killing in the UK and Ireland the day after the original US broadcast.

The controversial US remake of the hit Danish crime drama will also be exclusive to Netflix on this side of the Atlantic.

Those who’ve missed out on the first two seasons can binge-watch them on Netflix now and get up to speed. Fans of the original Forbrydelsen should know by now that the US version, produced by Fox and Fuse Entertainment, did way more than just retrace the steps of the original. The basic premise of the original remains, but the creators turned things in a different direction, tantalisingly refusing audiences the identity of the killer.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Season 3 of The Killing exclusively to our members in the UK and Ireland,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix.  “The Killing is an incredibly gripping fan favorite so we wanted to make each new episode available as soon as possible.”

Each new episode of The Killing will be available on Netflix every Monday, making it the closest thing Netflix has to a regular broadcast schedule.

The Killing is the latest in an impressive string of exclusive coups secured by Netflix including House of Cards, Hemlock Grove and Arrested Development
