Best of all, the dimmer can be set up to work with up to ten light bulbs in the home, so you won’t need to replace every light switch with one. A Hue White bulb (normally £20) is also bundled with the kit, and as it doesn’t require a Hue Bridge to work, you get everything you need in the box to get set up.

Philips says that you can easily install everything yourself, but of course if you’re not comfortable doing that, seek out a professional electrician if you’re unsure. If you have basic skills with electronics and you know what you’re doing, you should be able to set this up with little trouble.

Announced in tandem with Philips’s new Lightstrip Plus products, the dimmer kit will be going on sale early next month. You’ll be able to order yours directly from the Meet Hue site, but no other UK retailers have been announced as of yet.
