Sky has updated its iOS and Android Sky+ apps which now let you queue up downloads of On Demand content on your Sky+ HD box on the go.
Rather than waiting until you get home to start downloading shows, you can action downloads at any time of day, from the office or your lunch break.
As well as being convenient this has the added bonus of letting you download shows at times of day when the network will be less busy, so shows ought to download much more quickly as well.

“We know the way our customers are watching TV is changing and On Demand has become much more popular. Over 3.4m homes with a Sky+HD box connected to broadband are now downloading around millions of On Demand shows and movies every week.”
To start remotely downloading shows, browse Showcase, Catch Up TV and then go to the TV Box Sets or Sky Movies sections. Find the show or film you want and hit Download. Your Sky+HD box will start downloading the show straight away.
You’ll be able to do this from anywhere in the world where there’s a 3G or WiFi connection. Downloading the app updates will require you to connect to your Sky+HD box via WiFi to verify that your box has the latest software. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to download Sky On Demand programmes on the go.
