Sky Sports for iPad Ashes Event Centre: Hands-on video

The latest Ashes tournament is well underway and if you’re a Sky Sports subscriber you’ve got an extra way to watch.  

The Ashes Event Centre on Sky Sports for iPad gives you access to a live feed of the action but that’s not all. In true Sky style you’ve got the option to pause, rewind and relive all the important moments of the game. 

This is made easy thanks to the scrolling history bar situated at the bottom of the screen. Thoroughout a game this will be populated by little icons every time a batter hits a four, a six or he loses his wicket. Tapping on these icons and then tapping on the extra grey box that pops up in the video frame will let you jump back in the live feed and review those key moments in the game.

As well as pulling up stats for all players, the Ashes Event Centre features a section powered by Hawk-Eye Innovations technlogy.

This gives you the wicket keeper’s eye view of the action and lets you review the angle of bowls are they’re coming in. You’re also afforded a bird’s eye view of matches so you can see where most of those fours and sixes are headed.
